Dr. Linda Piper Frederickson

Dr. Linda Piper Frederickson graduated from Franklinton High School in 1981.  She was in the first fully integrated class at Franklinton Elementary where she returned to serve as principal in 2000. In 2004, Dr. Frederickson was named Franklin County Principal of the Year. Prior to being a principal she served as a teacher at Youngsville Elementary, Franklinton Middle and Cedar Creek Middle, as well as, Assistant Principal at Cedar Creek Middle. 

Dr. Frederickson has a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and a Masters in Public School Administration.  She earned her Doctorate in Education from NC State University in 2017.

Dr. Frederickson served as the Director of Elementary Education and Federal Programs for Franklin County Schools from 2008 until 2014.  During her tenure she was Franklin County Central Office Employee of the Year and in 2011 was named North Carolina Association of Educators Central Office Administrator of the Year.  

Dr. Frederickson retired from Franklin County Schools in 2014 and began working full time as the Education Coordinator for the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford where she oversees the education programs and services for residents pre-kindergarten through college.

Dr. Frederickson is married to Clark Frederickson.  Together they have six children (all Franklinton High graduates) and seven grandchildren. She strongly believes in celebrating small successes and that all children have gifts and talents.  Her goal is to help others discover their gifts and talents.  
In addition to the G.I.F.T. Board, Dr. Frederickson serves as the Vice Chair of the Granville Education Foundation and Chair of the Franklin Granville Vance Partnership for Children.  She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her husband in their RV.
